What this actually detects
Google folds AI Mode and AI Overview activity into Search Console's ordinary Web totals - there's no filter to isolate it. But the AI layer leaves a readable signature in the blend: answer-shaped queries that keep earning impressions while clicks collapse far below what their position predicts. The searcher saw the results page; the AI answer above it resolved the question; the click never happened. This analyzer finds that signature in your own export.
How to read the flags
- Flags are leads, not verdicts. A low-CTR query can also mean a weak title, a mismatched snippet or heavy SERP features. The AI signature is strongest when a whole cluster of how/what/best queries shows the same collapse.
- Branded queries are excluded because their CTR runs far above any curve and would drown the signal - enter your brand terms so navigational traffic doesn't pollute the flags.
- The CTR curve is a heuristic - an industry-typical shape, not your site's measured baseline. Directionally right, precisely wrong; that's enough for triage.
What to do about an absorbed query
You can't make the AI answer go away - the play is to be in it. That means checking whether Google's AI layer names your brand on those questions, then doing the work that earns a mention: answer-first pages for the sub-questions, clean structured data, and corroboration in the sources the answers cite.
