Asks for almost nothing

activeTab only

It reads the current tab's URL after you click the icon - never in the background, never your browsing history.

One own-domain host

It only talks to tryzene.com to fetch the score. Not <all_urls> - a single, audited host, so Web Store review is clean.

Server-side fetch

Zene reads the site you're checking on its own servers. The extension never accesses the content of the pages you visit.

Is it really free, with no signup?

Yes. No account, no API key, no credit card. Click the icon and you get a graded AI-readiness report in seconds. Signup is only for tracking the score over time on Zene.

Which browsers does it work in?

It's a Chrome (Manifest V3) extension, so it also runs in Brave, Edge, Arc and any Chromium-based browser. A Firefox build can follow if there's demand.

How is this different from the web checker?

It's the same score from the same API - the extension just puts it one click away on any tab you're already looking at, instead of pasting a URL. The web report adds competitor compare, a shareable card and the full engine audit.

What does the extension send?

Only the URL of the tab you're on, and only when you click the icon. Zene fetches and scores that site server-side. The extension reads nothing else and stores nothing about you.

Can it check localhost or intranet sites?

Because Zene fetches the page server-side, it can't reach pages that aren't publicly available - localhost and intranet URLs fall back to "open the full checker on Zene".

Extension or full product - which do I need?

Both, for different jobs. The extension is the snapshot: what's the state of this site right now. Zene is the film: how that score moves over time, how you stack up against competitors, and what to do next.
