Why schema helps AI engines
Structured data tells a model reading your page which numbers are prices, which text answers a question, and which organization is speaking. Parseable facts are the ones that get quoted - so the same markup that earned rich snippets in Google now helps you get cited in AI answers.
The three types this covers
- FAQPage - hands engines question/answer pairs in exactly the shape they answer in. Add it to any page with a Q&A section.
- Product & Offer - turns "pricing seems to be around $19" into "Pro is $19/month". Essential on pricing pages.
- Organization - your canonical name, site and profiles, so engines reconcile every mention of your brand to one entity.
Two rules that keep it safe
Only mark up content that's actually visible on the page, and keep the markup accurate - schema that contradicts your page (an old price, say) teaches models to distrust it. Validate every change at validator.schema.org. The full breakdown is in 5 schema types that help AI engines cite you.
